Introduction

This will help you generate a list of simple ad sizes for WTHR.com, Premion, and TEGNA’s Audience Marketplace.


Required Ad Sizes

Below are the ad sizes and specs.


Display ads needed for Run of Site Display:

Display ads needed for Sponsorship:

Adhesion ad requirement:

  • Adhesion ads are created by WTHR. Please provide the following:
    • High-resolution images/photos
    • Copy points
    • Any design guidance (colors, ad references, fonts, etc.)

Interscroller Display:

  • Interscroller ads are created by WTHR. Please provide the following:
    • High-resolution images/photos [minimum 750×570]
    • Copy points
    • Any design guidance (colors, ad references, fonts, etc.)
    • Destination URL

Interscroller Video:

  • Interscroller ads are created by WTHR. Please provide the following:
    • Background image (Optional)*: 2600x1000px psd or unflattened image
    • Copy
    • Logo
    • Video specs:
      • Aspect Ratio: 4:3 or 16:9 (1024×768) for Desktop Landscape Video
      • 3:4 or 9:16 (720 x 1280) for Mobile Vertical Video
      • Video Codec: H.264 MP4
      • 6-30 seconds duration
      • Recommend at least 1080p resolution < 3MB, MP4

Premion Video Ad Campaign:

  • :15 or :30 video
    • 1920×1080 or larger

WTHR.com Pre-roll:

  • :15 or :30 video
    • 1920×1080 or larger 
    • Note: 15 seconds are non-skippable. 30 second videos are skippable after 15 seconds.

Audience Marketplace Pre-roll:

  • :15 or :30 video

Audience Marketplace Display:

  • 300×600
  • 160×600

Audience Marketplace Native:

  • Image: 1200×627, recommend for scaling
  • Headline: 25 character max (including spaces)

  • Deadlines:
    • Thursday, January 8
      Deadline to submit local digital sales campaigns for the Opening Ceremony (2/6) and first weekend of competition (2/7-2/8)

    • Monday, February 2
      Deadline to submit local digital sales campaigns for the first Monday of the Games (2/9)

    • Thursday, February 5
      Campaigns or creative swaps submitted on this date or later will start five days after submission

      Example: A creative swap submitted on February 8 will go into effect on February 13

 

NBC Sports:

  • :15 or :30 video file
    • no third-party tags allowed
    • 1920×1080 or larger

  • 728×90

Creative swaps for NBC Sports are due every Wednesday.
